It was 30 years ago today that I went for a walk into McGinnis Springs on Mt. Shasta
and ran into an old hippie friend of mine, Jerry.
We had known each other for about 8 years because we lived off & on in the same
commune in Joshua Tree, California.
Summer's there would get intensely hot, so everyone would go up to Mt. Shasta
to camp out for the summer.
This day I hiked the 3 miles from the road into the springs & was squatting taking a pee
off in the trees, when I glanced up the hill & there was Jerry, sitting up in the fiddle fern watching me!
We laughed & spent the day together & then walked down the mountain
into town. That was a 6 mile walk back to town and at one point it started to rain.
We sat under a tree until the rain ended & then we kissed.
Jerry was going to do errands in town the next day anyway, so he spent the night
at my studio apartment. The rest is history.
We spent that summer all over each other and in mad wild love.
Come September I was diagnosed with my first lymphoma.
Most guys would of ran as fast as they could, but Jerry stuck with me and I'm blessed that he did!

it's been 30 years of the most intense & unconditional love I have ever known.
A lot of arguing, making up, forgiving, smoking pot, giving up drugs, spiritual growth,
health problems, friends coming & going, family coming & going, traveling, adventure, frustration, joy, contentment & differences of opinion!
I didn't know how to end this post, so I asked Jerry "how would you put our relationship
into one sentence" he said....
It's been more fun than a barrel of monkeys!
